Gold for Jiri Jezek at World Championship
Jiri Jezek, Paralympic cyclist, member of NUTREND Team and holder of several medals from the Paralympic Games and European and World Championships won another gold medal at this year World Championship in Canada where he took the first place in individual time trial. Jiri thus enriched his collection of gold medals from World Championships.
Jiri Jezek mastered difficult track in strong stiff headwind at average speed 42,7 km/h and defeated last year winner Spanish cyclist Robert Alcaide by 8 seconds.
""I hoped that I would have an advantage due to my professional starts but on the other hand I was also a bit worried as I was a bit tired after the long and difficult season. Twenty-three kilometres track is not that long but repeated steep hills climbing and strong wind really prepared hell for us. I am happy that I finished the race and won the gold medal," described satisfied Jiri.
